This collection has been several years in the making. Deeply evoked by the Polynesian Creatrix story of the goddess (Hina), MAHINA. A tale of ascension. And a love affair with the moon. With my interest of origin, and collection of creation stories, and a kingdom creating by night, I find myself in a dreamscape.

Ship-wrecked in a Paul Gauguin landscape. A message in a bottle. Impressionistic colour fields. A culture clash of the late 1800s. Tahitian moons & Hurricanes. Oil smoked bronze.

The dark rich green forest canopies. Floral blooms, quills and feathered fowls. Hammered hides of rays and skates. Pink sand. Rattan.

I have been inoculating and growing, InStudio, exotic wild species of Fungi. These colourful and alien mushroom caps dress the table-scapes. Grown in the moss carpets. And within the scraps of the hard woods used for the hand carved chair backs. Each are evoked by shields of the indigenous Polynesian tribes of the South Pacific.

Inlayed with brass and precious stones. Agates, Quarts, Carnelian, Amethyst and Tahitian Pearls. Sacred patterns and symbols. A collection of lighting. The crescent leafs of banana and rubber trees. Silver white moon light and the golden glowing floral horizon. This collection is riddled with the magic of a waking dream. The small hidden signatures of a micro-biome. Mold,Moss, Lichen and Fungi. The unintended and uncontrollable alchemy of all matter. A kingdom devouring. Metals, woods and stone. Ultimately an unconcealable transformation. Creation.
