We used to play a game called “One Pocket” — it was a fast money hustler version game of nine ball. The goal: to get the five ball and the nine ball into the designated pocket (right side pocket); $5 on the five, $10 on the nine. That almost always worked its way up to $50/$100. The game moves so fast between players, it got hard to keep track of whose hand was in that pocket full of cash. So we placed a bowl on top of the billiard table lamp - we called it the “kitty”.
