P A V O

I suppose I was going to wait until spring for this reveal, though these beautiful storms have evoked a darker mood in me. The desaturated halcyon grey window light. A cold that hovers just above the surface of skin, barley touching. Hail is a sound heard less often in nature then others I can think of.
I am moved, I think, by people who romanticize rain and weather; they talk about tea and baths and candle light.
I have been lucky enough to enjoy it from my indoor garden.

These chairs are made entirely of brass bar and tube, designed to patina in the elements. Their sinuous nouveau lined frames mimic the early centuries garden terraces. Vine and floral covered conservatories and green house gazebos of the past. A custom perforated seat, back and arms fold flat to stack and tuck away.—
Secretly the only thought I had while designing these chairs was their life in ruin. Discovering them by happenstance a century from now. Excavated and uncovered in the vines and bramble; sweet pea flowers, thorns and poison berries; in a salted-wind blown meadow along the central coast. Blades and branches weaving their way though each perforation and seam.
I stood in this landscape and dreamed of this objects life.
