IT GIRL

A Medusa head vessel intended only to hold a snake plant.
The obvious warning applies to all believers.

A most common question asked;
“Who is your favorite/inspiration artist?”
I have always answered, “Medusa.”

Recently, my 8 year old son, Arrow, has discovered Ancient Greek mythology. A favorite subject of mine. I have been endlessly explaining the variations in stories and timelines. Question upon question…
Nathaniel Hawthorne—
“A Wonder Book for Girls and Boys”
I highly recommend if you have curious young ones in your life.
The way these words of mythos and mystery flow from young character, Eustace Bright, a tactful yet less then mild version of beautiful beast decapitation, tyrannical monarchy deception, and Gods wrath on mankind for betrayal of sacred law. — Men flooded and turned to fish.
Arrow, now finding his inner warrior, dreamed of being Perseus, gliding on winged horse-back to the ancient fountain Pirene. How he himself would deprive the gorgon of her asp laden headdress. I explained to him how I would love her. How I alone would take her heart, either by mortal contract or even blindfolded, I would love her for her art. Walk with her in the statue garden, a place no one dares to see.
Both with admiration and envy of her life’s work. Arrow still wished to kill Medusa. Take her head. Hold it up to the treacherous King Polydectes and the corrupted hearts and eyes of the peoples of Serifos. I smiled as he pretended to hold a sword.

I keep snake plants in nearly every room. The care and quality in which they clean the air is remarkable.
And for Arrow’s room… I felt it only right that he alone holds the ancient trophy that many men have wished to capture. All be it, my long lost soulmate.
