MASQUER

A Chair by Jason Koharik, 2019.

Originally evoked by the mirrorless, low candle lit, application of Dior Rouge Red 999 - I have since been charmed by a collective costume carnivalesque.

A social distant dance party. A foolish forced and false facade of pious pretense and propaganda. A self appointed altruism and dedicated commitment to the theater of it all. The Actor Gods of morality and merit. The obscured obloquy of the shame Provocateur. A hypocrite’s masquerade of virtue. Paradise, for the Parrots Pandemonium. “Polly take a bow.”

Masquillier - to blacken or smear.

“This too shall pass
So raise your glass to change and chance
And freedom is the only law
Shall we dance”
